BHUBANESWAR: As many as 70,000 Siksha Sahayaks in the state will pass on mass depart from Monday not easy fee hike, regularisation of jobs and death advantages. They alleged that government has been making promises to satisfy their calls for since long however has no longer executed anything.

"We don't have any other options but to go on mass leave. We have already informed the government about this," stated Malaya Jena, a leader of Siksha Sahayaks.

"While a Siksha Sahayaks takes home Rs 6520 per month while a regular teacher having similar qualification and work get five times more than us. So are the contractual teachers who are receiving salary as per the 7th pay commission recommendations. How can we run a family with this meager salary," Jena added.


The Siksha Sahayaks also alleged that the state government violated the policy pointers of regularising Siksha Sahayaks after six years of provider. "Those appointed in 2011 are yet to be regularised even after seven years. We have been demanding the regularisation of their jobs at the earliest," stated Jena.
