Chennai-born Suryadevara is GM's first woman CFO

Chennai-born Dhivya Suryadevara, 39, an Indian-American chartered monetary analyst, has been named the executive finance officer of the United States' greatest automaker, General Motors - the first lady to get the position within the auto business.


Currently the vice-president, company finance, Suryadevara will be triumphant Chuck Stevens on September 1, the company mentioned in a commentary.


Suryadevara will report to GM's chief govt officer Mary Barra, who has been head of the automaker since 2014 and the one lady to run an car corporate. Barra and Suryadevara are the first girls of their respective positions within the auto business, as no different main international automaker has a feminine CEO, nor a CEO and a CFO who're both feminine.


Suryadevara earned her bachelor's and grasp's degrees in trade from the University of Madras. She moved to the United States on the age of 22 to pursue her MBA from Harvard University.
