NEW DELHI: An afternoon after the town administration got rid of encroachment and unauthorised building from around 197 acres of public land in south Delhi's Asola village, the Delhi government on Thursday started fencing the retrieved land.
An official said teams of district administration officials also found a helipad and got rid of it from the realm which has properties owned via businessmen, politicians and even retired bureaucrats.
"The forest department of the Delhi government on Thursday started fencing the retrieved land following the direction of south district administration," South Delhi's district magistrate Amjad Tak said.
The woodland land also had borewells, bushes had been cut there and small-scale stone mining gadgets had been functioning with none permission.
The district magistrate said the demolition was performed on Wednesday at the course of a Supreme Court-appointed tracking committee which had inspected the realm on February 19.
