BENGALURU: In but another transfer to make Church Street pedestrian-friendly, site visitors law enforcement officials on Wednesday banned parking at the 715m stretch.
CM Siddaramaiah, while inaugurating the renovated street, had directed officers to make the stretch parkingfree so that pedestrians can walk freely on its footpaths.
On Tuesday, TOI reported how law enforcement officials had been hanging barricades on parking bays along the street and installing ‘no parking’ forums.
However, the ban brought about some confusion. “The government should have thought of it before the inauguration. What’s the purpose of creating parking bays?” requested Samarth N, a client.
R Hithendra, further commissioner of police (site visitors), stated: “We’re also planning to ban entry of vehicles for a few hours in the evening.”
