Vasco: Panic erupted on Swatantra Path at New Vaddem in Vasco on Saturday night time, when the siren of a scheduled multi-state bank started ringing abruptly.
Pradyum Shelkar, who lives in the vicinity, said the siren started at 11.30pm on Saturday. “The complete neighbourhood ran to the website online. We panicked as we didn’t know what had took place, whether there was a fire or a dacoity,” he said.
People instantly referred to as the Vasco police. PSI Vikas Deykar rushed to the website online. When the police contacted the bank supervisor he said he may now not come and as an alternative, despatched his assistant with a crew.
However, despite being presented ok police protection, the crew refused to open the premises and locate the fault. They best inspected it from the outdoor and left.
People in the vicinity were inconvenienced the entire night time long because of the noise. To make issues worse, on Sunday morning, too, bank officers failed to take any action and the siren persisted.
Customers of the bank, too, panicked.Expressing concern, a buyer, Nilima Narvekar, a beautician via career, said “We are eager about what has gone flawed and concern for our savings.”
Officials in the end controlled to show off the blaring siren around 8pm on Sunday.
