BJP claims govt involved in Rs 2.1,000 crore hostel scam

HUBBALLI: Jagadish Shettar, the BJP leader of the opposition in the legislative meeting, claimed the ruling Congress is enthusiastic about Rs 2,158-crore scholar hostel scam and that scholars reside hellish lives in hostels.
Releasing ‘Sarkari Hostel’, a survey carried out by the state BJP, Shettar claimed hostels have become a haven for officers and ministers to loot money. “It’s a disgrace at the a part of leader minister Siddaramaiah, who all the time claims to be a pacesetter of Ahinda (Kannada acronym for Kannada acronym for minorities, backward classes and Dalits),” Shettar stated. “If he is really bothered concerning the Ahinda neighborhood, he must order a judicial inquiry.”

The irony is that 498 hostels don't have any drinking water and 666 hostels have scholars beyond the really helpful capability. Also, 1,183 hostels don’t have cots, pillows and blankets.”


He claimed the home committee, led by Congress MLA PN Narendra Swamy, had reported the scam of Rs 2,158 crore.


BJP leaders including Belagavi (rural) MLA Sanjay Patil and Kudachi MLA P Rajiv made marvel visits to the Devraj Urs Backward Classes Post Matric Boys Hostel in Anjaney Nagar in Belagavi on Friday, and carried out an inspection. A large crowd of leaders and birthday celebration staff entered the kitchen and eating hall in addition to rooms of the scholars in conjunction with media persons. They blamed the federal government for what they claimed had been unhygienic stipulations in and across the hostel.
