BJP's victory in Northeast changed perception: Rajnath Singh

SHILLONG: The BJP's victory within the Northeast has modified the belief that most effective the Congress can continue to exist there, house minister Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday.
Singh, at the side of BJP president Amit Shah, have attended the swearing-in-ceremony of Conrad Sangma-led coalition government in Meghalaya, the place the BJP may be part.

"There was a perception that only the Congress can survive in the Northeast. But now that perception has changed with the BJP's victory in the Northeast," he advised journalists right here.


In the just lately held Assembly elections, the Congress was ousted from power in Meghalaya whilst the celebration may not win a single seat in Tripura and Nagaland.


The BJP were given completely majority and two-third majority at the side of its best friend IPFT in Tripura, it won 12 seats in Nagaland and shall be part of the coalition government at the side of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) there.


In Meghalaya, the BJP won two seats and is now part of the Sangma government.
