Delhi budget 2018: AAP govt allocates nearly Rs 14,000 crore for education sector

NEW DELHI: The Delhi govt today allocated Rs 13,9997 crore, which is 26 in keeping with cent of the total funds, for the education sector in the funds for 2018-2019 fiscal which was presented in the Assembly here today.
In the funds for the monetary 12 months 2017-2018, 23.5 in keeping with cent of the total funds quantity was allocated for the education sector.


Installation of CCTV cameras in school buildings, self-defence training for woman scholars, promotion of sports in colleges and setting up of a world-class skill centre are some of the big-ticket promises made by the the AAP govt in today's funds proposal.


Presenting the funds, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia mentioned Rs 175 crore will probably be allocated for set up of CCTV cameras in school buildings. A total of 1.2 lakh cameras will probably be put in.


"The government has allocated Rs 10 crore for self-defence training of girl students in Delhi and Rs 20 crore has been allocated for promotion of sports in schools," he mentioned, and likewise announced allocation of Rs 315 crore for setting up a world-class skill centre in the nationwide capital to coach the formative years in getting jobs.
