Five critical after fire and compressor blast in Chembur

MUMBAI: Four members of the family and one in every of their neighbour sustained severe burn injuries after a fire that started because of cylinder gas leak and a compressor of washer blasted at Chembur Camp in Chembur (West) on Wednesday night time.

Fire brigade officers said that the fire was confined within the ground flooring construction area. They suspect that cylinder gas leakage caused the fire, engaging the washer kept close by. Due to the blast, residents sustained severe injuries.


Disaster keep watch over room officers said that the injured had been admitted into Sion Hospital for remedy. Civic officers mentioned that the incident occurred around 6pm, when the members of the family had been in the house.


Injured are recognized as Subhash Kamble (69), Kiran Kamble (40), Manisha Kamble (34), Daksh Kamble (13) and Pooja Hinduja (40). Kiran and Manisha are essential.
