Five youths held for stabbing three

Coimbatore: Police arrested five youths, together with a college pupil, for attempting to homicide 3 youths at Gandhipuram Junction on Sunday night time. They have been known as Vivek Prabhu, Praveen, a college pupil, Kutti, Arun and Vijay Karthick, all from Rathinapuri. According to police, Gowtham from Rathinapuri, a college dropout, was together with his friends Sukumar and Praveen on Sathy Road at Gandhipuram Junction on Sunday night time. “They had enmity over celebrating a college function at Nava India. On seeing Gowtham and friends, the five-member gang fought with them. Suddenly, Vivek Prabhu assaulted Sukumar the usage of a knife. Gowtham’s pal Praveen tried to stop Vivek Prabhu. But, Vivek Prabhu and his friends stabbed Praveen. Later, they stabbed Gowtham too, who sustained accidents on his stomach,” a police officer said. TNN
