Govt suspends DCP for lax security at Lokayukta office

BENGALURU: A day after Lokayukta P Vishwanath Shetty used to be stabbed inside his chamber, the federal government on Thursday suspended Yogesh, deputy commissioner of police (Vidhana Soudha security), for lapses within the security on the Lokayukta workplace.
Sources confirmed to TOI that the suspension, with instant effect, comes on the CM's behest. Earlier within the day, CM Siddaramaiah, who used to be attacked through the opposition over legislation and order situation, admitted to security lapses. tnn

Doctors treating Justice Shetty in Mallya Hospital stated he is strong and recovering. On Thursday, the federal government installed a new metal detector on the entrance to the Lokayukta workplace in MS Building, and also greater security.

Officials on the headquarters of the ombudsman stated they'd written a minimum of 8 letters to the state government in somewhat over a 12 months, asking for an improve to security and introduction of pat-down assessments.

The missives, the primary of which used to be sent in January 2017, cited state and nationwide intelligence signals that the watchdog used to be on the radar of terrorists and anti-national components. The incontrovertible fact that more than one letters written through officers from the Lokayukta to the house department had been ignored displays the federal government in poor light.

Tejraj Sharma, the man arrested for the attack, has been remanded in 5 days' police custody. Police took him to his place of origin of Tumakuru for additional investigations.
