Gujarat high court orders probe into EWS housing scam

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat top courtroom has ordered the registration of an FIR for an alleged rip-off within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) housing scheme for economically weaker sections (EWS) at Lakhudi Talav in Naranpura.
Justice A J Desai junked Naranpura police’s blank chit to the developer B Safal Group and AMC officials and directed police to check in an FIR for the alleged illegality and irregularities in allotment of houses. The top courtroom made it clear that the FIR shall be open and against all those whose names surface within the investigation.

The developer was once meant to build 540 flats however 568 flats and stores have been built. Of them, most effective 148 devices have been allocated via a draw.
