India supports peace and stability in Korean Peninsula: VP Naidu

NEW DELHI: Peace is prerequisite to growth and India wants peaceful co-existence in her neighbourhood, vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu advised a visiting Korean Parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of South Korean National Assembly Chung Sye Kyun.

Naidu said India used to be a peace-loving country and wants to have cordial members of the family with all its neighbours. The Vice-President additionally favored the trouble of President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea to unravel the North Korean nuclear issue thru dialogue and engagement. He said that India supports peace and steadiness on the Korean Peninsula thru dialogue and diplomacy and expressed the hope that the momentum generated by the inter-Korean talks would contribute to this finish.


Terming India and Korea as 'natural companions,' he pointed out that both have civilisational linkages and deep people-to-people bonds.


Naidu additionally pointed out that terrorism is a world threat to mankind and expressed the hope that the United Nations (UN) comes out with a broader answer against terrorism.
