NEW DELHI: Former prime minister Manmohan Singh on Friday pitched for equitable sharing of "power and development" among all three regions of Jammu and Kashmir to discover a lasting way to the state's problem.
Singh used to be speaking at the release of a e-book, 'Karan Singh - Jammu and Kashmir (1949-1967)', at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) here.
The first replica of the e-book used to be presented through former leader justice T S Thakur to Singh.
"(The problems of) Jammu and Kashmir is a complex subject ... There cannot be a lasting solution to the problem of Jammu and Kashmir unless the equitable sharing of power and developments of all the three regions of the state - Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu - is attended to," the senior Congress leader mentioned.
Stating that there used to be a "lot of unfinished agenda and lot of food for thought", Singh mentioned he was hoping that different scholars would practice the footsteps of this e-book in coping with the function of Jawaharlal Nehru, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and different leaders in influencing the course of events in the state.
He mentioned it used to be an "important book on an important subject" and deals with the historical past of Jammu and Kashmir from 1949 to 1967.
