NAVI MUMBAI: Kharghar police arrested a 36-year-old mom of four on Wednesday for allegedly strangulating her 16-year-old daughter as she suspected the woman of being in a sexual relationship together with her father.
The lady was once arrested on Wednesday after the post-mortem file of the victim, a school-going girl, published the cause of death as asphyxiation due to strangulation. The crime took place on March 4 at their Kharghar flat. The accused is a homemaker and her husband a civil contractor. Two of their youngsters—the victim and a 12-year-old son—lived with them in Kharghar whilst the opposite two—a 20-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son—resided of their local hometown in Rajasthan.
Senior inspector Dilip Kale said, “The accused allegedly strangulated her daughter together with her dupatta inside of their flat around 10.30am on March 4. At 1.45pm, her husband returned home for lunch. When he noticed their daughter within the bed room, his wife informed him that she was once fast asleep.
