GURUGREAM: The opening of the district swimming pool, in the beginning scheduled for Tuesday (March 20), has been delayed. Ongoing repairs on the pool have compelled the sports division to put off the opening to April 1, resources stated.
“Some restore paintings remains to be pending. Broken taps inside washrooms wish to be repaired, the boundary partitions wish to be repaired and leakage inside the pool needs to be fixed. Also, the pool tiles need to be wiped clean,” stated district swimming trainer Ravinder Singh.
Every year, the pool facility in Kamala Nehru Park opens simplest after April 20, delaying training of swimmers by way of about 20 days.
Earlier this month, the sports division had made tall claims that the pool could be opened earlier than April for athletes this year.

Khushi Jain, who too has competed on the nationwide level, stated: “I’ve been training on the district swimming pool in Kamala Nehru Park. The washrooms aren't in just right condition, they usually want maintenance.” Many swimmers, below the condition of anonymity, stated even if the pool is repaired once a year, it isn't maintained throughout the year, causing problems to crop up again.
