Rivals Left, TMC share stage at farmer event

NEW DELHI: In what may just point out that backroom meetings of opposition events are beginning to yield results, arch competitors Trinamool Congress and Left leaders shared the stage at a Bhumi Adhikar Andolan programme organised to protest towards agrarian crisis, assault on farm animals economy and the lynching of Dalits and minorities.

The organisation of farmers’ saw a rainbow of Left leaders proportion the stage with Trinamool MP Dola Sen. Among the others who threw their weight at the back of the mass movement towards agrarian crises were CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury; CPI’s S Sudhakar Reddy, D Raja and Atul Kumar Anjan; and social activist Medha Patkar amongst others.



Speaking on the event, Yechury drew parallels between the battle for farmers’ proper and the battle for a secular democratic republic and said the RSS is undermining the democratic and constitutional idea of India.
