CHENNAI: Former ICC chairman and BCCI president N Srinivasan on Friday took strong objection to the statements made through Dilip Vengsarkar all the way through an match in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The former Indian captain claimed that his tenure as the selection committee chairman was lower short through Srinivasan since he was disappointed at Vengsarkar's resolution to include the then 19-year-old Virat Kohli into the national side rather than Tamil Nadu's S Badrinath.
"At the outset, I deny this as completely false, motivated and without any basis. It is a pity that Vengsarkar is trying to cast aspersions on me. I find it unbecoming and highly unprofessional of a former selector to act in such a manner," mentioned Srinivasan.
Srinivasan reasoned that the allegation that one player being dropped in favour of some other within the Indian squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in 2008 - a choice that allegedly resulted in Vengsarkar's removing - was flawed as each Badrinath and Kohli had long past directly to characteristic in that individual sequence.

"Vengsarkar continued as the vice-president of the MCA until 2010 and again in 2014 as he could not have been considered at all for the post of selector. The decision was clear - you can't be on both sides. This is a simple rule and he was aware of it. He is trying to create some controversy by suggesting that I was behind his removal when I was the treasurer of the BCCI," mentioned Srinivasan.
