VIJAYAPURA: A Class 10 studen t was allegedly gang-raped by way of four men in a banana field at Nagabenal village in Muddebihal taluk near Nalatawad on Tuesday. One of the accused was stuck by way of the lady's father who heard her cries for help, whilst 3 others are on the run.
Thousands of villagers blocked the street in Viresh Nagar and burned tyres to protest the alleged d elay in nabbing the culprits. Police confident action can be taken and satisfied them to retreat after traffic was held up for a number of hours.
