Tamil Nadu forest fire claims lives of nine trekkers

CHENNAI/THENI: At least nine folks died in a woodland hearth in Kurangani hills in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, Theni district collector M Pallavi Baldev stated on Monday.



As many as 36 trekkers – 24 from Chennai, together with 23 ladies, and 12 from Tiruppur, together with 3 ladies and 3 children -- have been stuck within the hearth on Sunday afternoon, stated income management, crisis management and mitigation commissioner Dr Okay Satyagopal.
