BOSTON: A rare, signed letter through Russian writer Leo Tolstoy giving editorial recommendation to a philosopher Pyotr Petrovich Nikolaev, was offered for USD 21,450 at an auction.
Nikolaev had despatched Tolstoy a letter enclosing his manuscript at the 'distortions of the teachings of Christ' in mid-July 1903.
The three-page long letter is the first handwritten Tolstoy letter now we have offered in nearly eight years, US-based RR Auctions said.
