Tirupur: Nine other people including workforce contributors of a Tamil satellite television channel had been booked for allegedly harassing a girl, who owns an influence loom unit near Avinashi in Tirupur district, on Thursday.
An FIR used to be filed after contributors of an influence loom process workers affiliation protested condemning the workforce’s behaviour.
According to police, Okay Senthil alias Selvakumar, a farmer from Sengalipalayam used to be working an influence loom unit. His wife S Poonkodi, 34 used to be also looking after it. They gave accommodation to six labourers, who had been all natives of other districts.
Two such labourers had been Arunachalam and his wife, who worked within the unit for lots of months. It is alleged that they had won Rs.50, 000 as advance from Senthil. Earlier, Arunachalam complained that Senthil handled him and his wife as bonded labourers. However, no case used to be registered as both the sides had been able to settle the problem amicably, the police assets stated.
Meanwhile, on March 27, Arunachalam introduced a workforce from a Mumbai-based Tamil satellite television channel to the facility loom. When the workforce attempted to videograph the unit, Poonkodi warned them to not come throughout the unit as only she and her sweetheart's mother had been present.
Nevertheless, the workforce which used to be accompanied via a couple of attorneys barged into the unit. In between all of the chaos, it is alleged that they physically stressed Poonkodi.
Irked over the incident, many villagers together with the contributors of an influence loom process workers affiliation demanded an apology letter for the workforce’s behaviour, the police stated.
Later, Avinashi police booked 9 individuals including Saravanan, Deepan, Madhavan, Stephen, Sudhakar, Sundaramurthy, Senthil, Naveen, and Surendar below various sections including Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act.
