GURUGRAM: A primary-year internal design pupil was assaulted while his mother was allegedly molested and heckled through a gaggle of senior scholars at the campus of GD Goenka University off Sohna Road on Monday. Police said the girl was admitted to the Civil Hospital after she complained of chest ache.
Based on a criticism from her, an FIR was filed against six fourth-year scholars of the college on charges of assault and sexual harassment. Police officials said they had acted at the criticism and were clueless about the purpose at the back of the attack.
Around three.30pm on Monday, the first-year pupil of B.Design was operating on a large fashion of a haunted house constructed on a flooring throughout the college premises as a part of a mission along with his classmates when some fourth-year engineering scholars got here there and enquired about the massive construction. His mother, who had come from their house in Greater Noida to lend a hand him, was also there.
The senior scholars allegedly tried to enter the haunted house (assets said it had a measurement of 60 ft through 60 ft) in spite of protests from the juniors, which induced a heated argument between the 2 teams that snowballed right into a brawl.
In her criticism to the police, the girl alleged the senior scholars first assaulted her son and certainly one of his friends. And when she tried to intrude, they molested and manhandled her.
Hearing their cry, some security group of workers of the college rushed to the ground but the senior scholars controlled to escape, she alleged.
Her son and his buddy got some bruises and were released from Civil Hospital after first support.
"I had gone to help my son on the project. I paid a rent to the university for the area my son used for the haunted house model. But suddenly, some senior students came and created a brawl. I told them that I was like their mother but they misbehaved with me and assaulted me. Now, I am more worried about my son. How will I send my son to this university again?" she asked.
Based at the criticism, an FIR has been filed against six scholars, 3 of whom had been recognized, underneath sections 323 (causing harm), 354A (sexual harassment), 506 (felony intimidation), 34 (commonplace intention) of the IPC at Sohna City police station.
"We have identified a few of them while efforts are on to identify other students involved in the brawl. We are conducting raids to nab all the accused," said sub-inspector Meena Devi, the investigating officer.
The college did not comment or issue any observation.
