Ghaziabad: The decomposed body of a 65-year-old man believed to have died at least every week in the past was found in his 11th-floor flat in a housing society in Raj Nagar Extension on Saturday.
Neighbours mentioned Ramanandham Vridhagiri, who hailed from Tamil Naidu and lived by myself, had advised them he was a retired defence officer and mostly stored to himself. Although neighbours had been getting a bad scent for the past few days, they approached the law enforcement officials only when it became insufferable and they found Vridhagiri’s flat locked from inside for days at a stretch.
There were conflicting versions on Vridhagiri’s circle of relatives back in Tamil Nadu. The citizens of Signature Homes, the place Vridhagiri had bought a flat in 2013, mentioned the retired official had advised them his spouse had died a number of years in the past and his son worked with an IT company in the southern state. Police claimed Vridhagiri had divorced his spouse and was childless.
None of Vridhagiri’s neighbours may just recollect having noticed his son or anyone from his circle of relatives visiting him ever. Police mentioned they had contacted one in all his sisters in Trichy, Jayanti, and had knowledgeable her about Vridhagiri’s death.
“The actual circle of relatives background might be transparent after his sister and other kinfolk arrive. We received a decision from the housing society around 10.30am about a foul scent emanating from the flat. We found the flat locked from inside. We broke the door and found the extremely decomposed body of Vridhagiri mendacity on a mattress in the bed room,” mentioned Ram Narayan Singh, the in-charge of Morta police outpost.
According to Sanjeev Sharma, president of the apartment house owners’ association, Vridhagiri had been dwelling by myself in the flat that he had bought in 2013. “We rarely noticed any individual visiting him. He didn't rent any maid and would do all of the family chores himself. Though he attended the society’s conferences, he would discuss very little. I had known as him up on April 22, but it went unanswered,” he mentioned.
Vridhagiri’s neighbours had been getting a bad scent for the past few days, but had been thinking that some animal had died in the neighborhood. “We concept it generally is a rat or some birds that had died. We cleaned the shaft and the surroundings, but the scent became all of the smelly. When it became insufferable on Saturday morning, we known as police,” mentioned Anuj Pradhan, who lives in the opposite flat.
