MUMBAI: The archdiocese of Bombay has organised a peace gathering and prayer provider 'Because We Care' at six venues on Tuesday (May 1). The meeting is to precise solidarity with victims of injustice, and women and kids who have suffered violence and abuse.
The assembly can be organised from 6.00-7.00pm in the grounds of St Michael's Church, Mahim, St Francis Xavier's Church in Vile Parle, St Francis of Assisi School in Borivli, Our Lady of Nazareth School in Bhayander, Holy Cross Church of Kurla and Sacred Heart faculty, Vashi.
Fr Nigel Barrett, spokesman of the archdiocese, said, "Those present will take a pledge to uphold the dignity and respect of all women and a sign memorandum that will be submitted to the authorities asking for justice and speedy redressal. The memorandum will also demand sensitization through educational programmes to eradicate gender bias."
