PM Modi praises shooters for Junior WC performance

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took to Twitter to congratulate the younger Indian shooters who completed 2d overall on the just lately concluded ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney, Australia. India won 22 medals, which incorporated nine gold, five silver and eight bronze, to finish 2d in the back of China, who won 25 medals, within the medal tally.

In a sequence of tweets, the PM praised the achievements of the younger shooters who've introduced laurels and made each and every Indian proud.

"In the recently held #ISSFJWC, our young shooters have brought home several laurels and made every Indian very proud. Congratulations to the Indian team that took part and achieved remarkable success in the tournament in Sydney. @ISSF_Shooting," PM Modi tweeted.

Modi then congratulated each of the nine shooters - Arjun Babuta, Elavenil Valarivan, Vivaan Kapoor, Manu Bhaker, Gaurav Rana, Anmol Jain, Anish Bhanwala (who was Emerging Player of the Year at TOISA 2018), Muskan Bhanwala and Ganemat Sekhon - in my view.











Modi concluded via saying that the performance in Sydney will motivate many more children to play more and excel.


"The stupendous performance of our shooters will strengthen the #FitIndia movement and many more youngsters will feel motivated to play more and excel. Once again, I congratulate the entire shooting team that participated in the #ISSFJWC. @ISSF_Shooting," concluded Modi.




Earlier, India's senior shooters had their best-ever campaign on the ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico, as they won 4 gold, one silver and 4 bronze. India topped the medal tally for the first time in an ISSF pageant.
