Student depicts life of Jesus through Bharatanatyam

Mangaluru: A Bharatanatyam efficiency coupled with the message from the Gospel made for a great Easter Sunday at the same time as a pupil of the Gaana Nritya Academy introduced the testaments to existence via her scintillating efficiency.
It used to be a novel full-fledged efficiency at the Bible depicted in the course of the ancient Indian dance form. Ruth Prithika, the dancer, mentioned the output is the efforts installed by her instructor Vidyashree Radhakrishna, her folks Dr Roshan Maben and Dr E V S Maben and her own practise since November, and that she would go away no stone unturned to take this concept on to larger platforms.

The two-hour efficiency titled ‘Kristha Patha’ gave the essence of all of the Bible right from the Book of Genesis to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ in all 5 compositions of the dance form. “It is Easter and what higher solution to unfold the word of God than using my ability,” mentioned Ruth Prithika, a third-year computer science engineering pupil.

While the idea that is logo new, the makers ensured that the efficiency adhered to the normal framework of Bharatnatyam. “There used to be no alternate in taste. We best imbibed the idea that,” Ruth mentioned.

According to Ruth, it used to be her father who conceptualized the idea and penned the lyrics. Her song instructor gave the lyrics a poetic form, were given the song recorded from internationally-recognized artistes in Bengaluru, and choreographed the efficiency.

“I love demanding situations. This efficiency, created using the narration in the holy testaments, shows the vastness of Indian classic dance bureaucracy. The basic idea of classical dance bureaucracy is storytelling. It isn’t restricted to any faith,” Vidyashree Radhakrishna, who believes Bharatnatyam is in itself a language, instructed TOI.

Vidyashree mentioned the biggest problem used to be that unlike depicting Shiva and Krishna, whose mudras are mentioned in Bharatanatyam, she needed to create mudras and costumes suiting Jesus. “We needed to get started from scratch. We were able to do it, and I'm happy people favored it.”
