MADURAI: Seven other people from Koruthodu in Kottayam district of Kerala died when a minivan they were travelling in collided with a truck close to Palani in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu within the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased had been recognized as Sasi, 62, his spouse Vijiammal, 60, his grandson Abijith, 14, his neighbours Suresh, 53, his spouse Lekha,51, Manu, 27, and Sajini, 52. All of them hailed from Koruthodu close to Mundakkayam.
They were going to Lord Murugan temple in Palani when the twist of fate happened. The mishap happened at Sithalavadampatti. Suresh was once using the minivan.
Four of them died at the spot. Abijith and Vijiammal died on the right way to sanatorium. Sajini and Sasi’s every other grandson, Adithyan, 12, were rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai in a critical condition. Sajini died in sanatorium.
The Chatrapatti police registered a case in opposition to truck driving force Ayyappan of Thenkarai.
