NEW DELHI: The shooting of a lady legit by a resort owner all the way through a demolition drive in Kasauli has brought illegal buildings across Himachal Pradesh underneath the scanner of the Supreme Court, which on Thursday requested the state executive to file a standing file on unauthorised constructions and steps taken to demolish them.
The apex court docket directed the state to file a file by May nine and said any such risky scenario had arisen because of the state executive’s failure to take well timed action towards illegal buildings.
“It (illegal construction) is a big problem for long run. What are you doing to ensure that such buildings don't happen and what are the stairs taken by you to demolish them. If you don't take action, then it'll inspire other folks to violate the regulation,” the bench said.
The state advocate general instructed the bench that the federal government was once alive to the problem and would take necessary steps to take away illegal buildings. He assured the court docket that ok security could be supplied to groups carrying out demolition drives. A guesthouse owner shot Shail Bala on Tuesday after she insisted on executing the SC ruling ordering demolition of illegal buildings in the hill the city.
As a group of the public works department (PWD) started flattening a part of Narayani Guest House at Mando Matkanda, its owner Vijay Singh (51) fired three rounds, leaving Bala lifeless and another officer seriously injured. Singh fled the scene and was once arrested on Thursday from the Vrindavan-Mathura house in Uttar Pradesh.
The bench, whilst ordering demolition of illegal constructions on April 17, had said the owners had been indulging in unbridled construction in violation of regulation in ecologically sensitive zones to earn a living. It had said such illegal constructions could now not be allowed as it could endanger the lives of visitors staying in the hotels.
