Another couple shares their ordeal on Facebook

KOLKATA: After the Dum Dum Metro station incident on Monday night, there was a deluge of posts on social media from youths, who shared their encounters with moral police. On Metro Railways’ Facebook web page, a young chef wrote about his enjoy on Nalin Sarkar Street. Saptarshi Mandal and his female friend, Tulika Bandhu, insist such incidents prove moral guardians are abruptly gaining strength in a city that earlier had a modern symbol.

According to Mandal, moral police targeted him for just “talking” to his female friend on Sunday morning. “My female friend and I were walking in our locality round eight.40am ahead of I went to work at11am. An aged individual on a cycle abruptly began abusing us verbally and accused us of creating out,” he stated.

Bandhu was equally aghast, “As the person hurled abuses and stated we weren’t allowed to make out in a respectable locality, others joined within the clamour.”

Mandal alleged an aged lady driven him. “Everyone wanted to present us lectures on how we were spoiling Kolkata’s symbol. An under the influence of alcohol van-puller packed a couple of punches at my boyfriend,” Bandhu stated.

When TOI contacted to Atin Ghosh, MMiC (health), he stated he wasn’t acutely aware of it. “Two kids can all the time stand and communicate to each other. Nobody can object if they aren’t crossing limits. If other people have accomplished what those kids are claiming, it is mistaken. I’ll look into it.”
