Bhoospet continues to be vexed by noise and traffic

Hubballi: The wholesale markets in the town were shifted to the APMC backyard in 2016 as the markets were inflicting inconvenience to close by residents.
The buyers on the outdated markets in Akki Honda, Bhoospet and adjacent areas were requested to vacate and relocate their retail outlets to the APMC backyard. The major rationale at the back of relocating the malls was once decreasing traffic jams in the center of town, the place these markets were located.

The residents were also facing issues like parking issues and noise pollution. Even after the markets were shifted, the residents are nonetheless facing traffic issues and the streets continue to be crowded.

The residents say vans load and sell off items irrespective of time and buyers aren't bothered about inflicting inconvenience to the residents. “There isn't a single day with out heavy crowd in these areas. We can't do our paintings peacefully as there may be always traffic chaos on the streets,” said a resident.

“Even after the wholesale markets were shifted to the APMC backyard, vans are noticed loading and unloading items many of the times in these areas. The mess on the roads is still visible and is inflicting inconvenience to us to travel or park our automobiles,” says Gauri Akki, a resident of Sheelvant Oni.

“There isn't a day wherein we can sleep peacefully as there may be always some noise here. Moreover it is very demanding all over our assessments,” says Akshata K a resident of Bhoospet.

“We can never sit down peacefully in the shop as these shipping automobiles have some or the other causes to get in day by day and create useless chaos,” says Sai Angadi, a shopkeeper in the area.


Officials respond


“I lately were given transferred here. I'm yet to go via this factor. I will be able to test and do something positive about it quickly,” said Shivprakash Naik, police inspector South Traffic, Hubballi.


M V Nagnur, ACP traffic, Hubballi-Dharwad advised TOI, “We are simply letting the vans to go in the course of the area all over evening. Some retail outlets couldn’t be relocated and this is the reason for the traffic chaos. We are currently busy with election paintings and we can cope with the noise and traffic issues quickly.”
