MUMBAI: Following a TOI file on May 11 about BMC's lackadaisical angle in repairing an uneven footpath for a yr, the civic frame displayed bizarre alacrity in fixing the stretch. Colaba resident Pritti Kumar (61) who had fallen at the pavement and fractured her legs remaining yr informed TOI on Sunday that the BMC had levelled the footpath.
Kumar stated that her chauffeur knowledgeable her on Friday-the day of the TOI report- that civic team of workers fastened the footpath that afternoon. "That evening, I saw that the uneven layer of paver blocks was fixed," stated Kumar. "It was left like that for a year."
The fall had rendered Kumar immobile for four months but even so her circle of relatives having to fork out Rs 2 lakh for scientific treatment.
Shiv Sena corporator from Matunga, Amey Ghole, wrote to TOI stating that the matter used to be resolved through the native ward place of work. The corporator for Colaba is from the Shiv Sena.
Assistant civic commissioner Kiran Dighavkar stated their team of workers had taken up maintenance for now, however stated things will be improved after the rains.
