COIMBATORE: The Tamil Nadu government will slash value-added tax (VAT) on aviation gasoline at Coimbatore International Airport to extend connectivity from right here throughout overdue night and early morning, stated leader minister Edappadi Okay Palaniswami on Thursday.
At present, the government is charging 29% VAT on aviation gasoline. It could be decreased to at least one% to attract airlines to Coimbatore airport, he stated. However, he didn’t expose when his government would implement the tax concession.
The state government is charging only one% VAT on aviation gasoline at Salem airport. The state government is making plans to chop VAT on aviation gasoline at Madurai and Trichy airports, according sources.
The Coimbatore airport is handling 40 arrivals and 40 departures (together with world flights) daily.
