Cop’s son murdered: Parents say son was tortured

MUMBAI: The investigation into the murder of the 21-year-old son of a police inspector at Royal Palms in Aarey Colony was once transferred to unit 11 of the crime branch on Thursday after his oldsters expressed dissatisfaction into the probe performed by the Aarey police. In a six-page letter to the Mumbai police commissioner on Wednesday, the daddy claimed his son was once ragged, tortured and sexually assaulted. He has demanded that every one 30 youngsters who have been at the birthday party be “arrested for murder” and lie-detector checks be performed on them.

The 21-year-old’s frame was once discovered next to a lake, part a kilometre from the villas where he had attended a birthday bash of a Marathi movie manufacturer’s daughter. While his frame was once discovered on May 9, forensic professionals estimated that he died yesterday. There have been contusions on his ribs and lungs and lacerations on his private parts.

“It’s been 9 days since my son’s dying but there was no breakthrough in the case. I’m convinced that whatever came about was once inside the confines of bungalow no. 212 where the celebration was once held. Youngsters who attended the celebration are suspects and I have mentioned the names of all 30 of them in my letter,” the daddy instructed TOI. The adolescence had attended the birthday party with a female friend and didn’t know the opposite guests. His father stated his feminine friend got herself admitted in the ICCU of a non-public medical institution after the incident. “She can provide correct knowledge of what came about there, but is deceptive the police. CCTV pictures presentations her and two different boys observe him out of the property, when he attempted to run for his life,” the daddy claimed.

After his son failed to return home from the celebration and his telephone was once switched off, the police inspector personally performed a search for him at Royal Palms and also roped in the movie manufacturer. “The accidents...sustained can't be caused by self harm. The line of investigation followed by the Aarey police isn't in confirmity with procedure laid down....instead of booking the culprits, they are making an attempt to offer protection to them as they are influential other people. I do not grasp any grudge against Aarey police officers,” the daddy mentioned in the letter to the police commissioner. “The questionnaire forwarded by the Aarey police to the forensic doctor involves one-sided questions for safeguarding the culprits. It states that my son did not sleep for three days, was once exposed to the solar and had dehydration, whether he was once addicted to medication etc. The investigating staff has put forth its personal theories, presumptions and is being judgmental to conclude that the injuries sustained may well be self inflicted. The suspects have not passed through any physical clinical exam.”

The letter added: “The Aarey police lacks adequate manpower, sources, informants and logistical reinforce to arrive at a logical conclusion...Their shoddy investigation has already destroyed vital proof from the crime scene.”
