Falling tree kills 3 in Mysuru's Brindavan Gardens

MYSURU: Three youths died and nine others had been injured when a tree fell on them in Brindavan Gardens at KRS reservoir past due Tuesday night following heavy rainfall.

The tourist facility, 21km from Mysuru, has been shut for 2 days. According to Krishnaraja Sagar police, there have been many tourists within the Gardens when rain and strong wind lashed the area. Tourists took shelter under bushes near the boating level.


A huge tree was uprooted and fell on tourists, killing Hillary, 35, and Vinod, 32, from Kerala, on the spot. Rajashekar from Tamil Nadu was badly injured and succumbed to accidents en path to Brindavan Hospital.


Nine injured tourists, including girls and children, had been admitted to various hospitals in Mysuru and Mandya and are mentioned to be out of risk.
