HYDERABAD: High pressure prevailed outside the state-run Niloufer Hospital on Monday night time after a three-month-old child admitted there died, allegedly due to improper remedy. Parents and kin of the child, M Dhruvan, staged a protest outside the hospital and demanded that the physician and others "responsible for the child's death be arrested.".
Dhruvan used to be admitted to Niloufer Hospital on April 6 with prime fever and have been undergoing remedy since then. According to his family, the boy's condition unexpectedly deteriorated on Monday and he gave up the ghost around four.30pm.
With 50-odd family members seeking to barge into the hospital to confront the government, the Nampally police had to rush a staff of personnel to the spot. "A team of cops had to be deployed and senior officials also visited the hospital to bring the situation under control," stated Nampally SI Pramod Reddy. "My brother's son has died and you are stopping me instead of arresting those responsible for it," certainly one of them used to be heard questioning the SI.
On April 18, Nampally police had lodged an FIR in opposition to the hospital under Section 336 (negligently endangering lifestyles or protection of others) of IPC. "At that time the doctors checked the blood and told us that it was O+. However, two days later when the blood had to be brought from outside and a recheck was done, they said that the group is A+," stated Mahesh Kumar, the newborn's father.
Hours ahead of the newborn gave up the ghost, the fogeys had even approached the State Human Rights Commission. They had additionally reached out to NGO Balala Hakkula Sangham. In the grievance to the NGO, Mahesh stated that the government informed them only on Monday that the child won't live on as he used to be affected by most cancers.
Health minister Laxma Reddy ordered an inquiry into the incident through a committee of medical doctors from Nims and MNJ Cancer Hospital. He stated the child died of an extraordinary blood cancer-Hemophagocytic Lympho Histocytosis-and that the chances of surviving in such cases is slender. He added this used to be communicated to the family and that the medical doctors stated that the child didn't die due to injecting of O+ blood.
