farmers hold protest in Samrala

LUDHIANA: Hundreds of farmers, underneath the aegis of Bhartiya Kissan Union (Rajewal), arranged a one-of-its-kind protest in opposition to emerging fuel costs at Samrala on Tuesday and handed over keys in their tractors to the management. Many also threatened to surrender farming if the federal government doesn’t instantly act to bring down fuel costs. The farmers also handed a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister to the sub-divisional magistrate. The site visitors on ever busy Chandigarh Ludhiana also remained disrupted for a while as loads of farmers on their tractors choked the road.
