Fire breaks out in Hyderabad zoo, animals safe

HYDERABAD: An enormous hearth broke out within the Nehru Zoological Park on Monday morning engulfing a two-acre open land. Thankfully, no animal or customer was injured, Monday being a public holiday on the zoo. However, a number of bushes were burnt and grass was decreased to ashes.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, it took more than two hours for the fire services workforce to convey the blaze beneath keep watch over. Though the officials suspect that the fire can have been brought about by way of a lighted cigarette thrown on a pile of leaves, studies stated that the blaze can have resulted owing to careless burning of dry grass and dumped waste within the zoo premises.

Chandulal Baradari hearth station officials replied to an emergency name at 10.45am and rushed a staff to the zoo immediately. "It was not until around 1pm that the fire was brought under control," Srinivas Reddy, district hearth officer, Hyderabad, stated.


Reddy stated the fire brought about injury to 2 acres of land. "Thanks to strong winds, the fire spread along in the open space and it took us two hours to put it out," he claimed.


Following this incident, the zoo officials have initiated steps to prevent hearth mishaps in long term. "We are investigating the cause of fire and will also take necessary precautions to avoid such incidents in future," a zoo respectable stated.


Spread over an area of roughly 380 acres, Nehru Zoological Park boasts of huge selection of species of birds, mammals and reptiles, which contains panther, gaur, Indian elephant, Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, Bengal tiger, slim loris, python, deer and antelopes.
