MUMBAI: A 40-year-old labourer used to be killed in a hearth which broke out in a leather-based manufacturing unit at Vasai early Wednesday morning.
According to eye witnesses, the smoke used to be billowing from the manufacturing unit, manufacturing leather-based baggage and shoes, at round 3 a.m.
The safety guard informed the chief, who rushed to the manufacturing unit and called the fireplace brigade.
While the manufacturing unit used to be close, a labourer used to be inside the premises. He is assumed to have died of suffocation.
Locals mentioned that the fireplace used to be brought under keep watch over but it surely reoccurred from every other spot and spread. The explanation for the blaze has not been ascertained yet.
Leather fabrics have been up in flames and the loss is estimated to be over a crore.
The body of the employee has been taken to the principle health centre for post-mortem.
