Flight to Vizag rescheduled five times

KOLKATA: A Vizag-bound SpiceJet flight that was once scheduled to depart Kolkata on Sunday morning left the town 21 hours in a while Monday afternoon. The extend left the flight’s 45 bizarre passengers fuming in anger as they waited on the airport for over six hours prior to it in the end took off at 3.45pm on Monday after being rescheduled five times.


SpiceJet officers blamed a “technical glitch” clubbed with a 100 kmph dust hurricane in Delhi, which left flight schedules around the country haywire, for the extend. The flyers — job aspirants who overlooked interviews, businessmen who needed to cancel conferences and other folks on vacations who misplaced time and money — had a harrowing ready on the airport living room with none of the on-ground officers giving them an explanation.


P Chalpati Rau, a hotelier from Kolkata, had a trade meeting in Vizag at 3pm on Monday that he needed to cancel. “I had booked the flight for Sunday, however on Saturday I were given a textual content message from the airline that said the flight was once rescheduled to depart the airport at 6.45am on Monday as a result of a technical glitch. On Sunday evening, I won some other textual content saying the flight was once additional rescheduled to 11am on Monday. When I reached the airport at 9am, I was informed that the flight will leave at 1pm. Around 12 noon, the ground group of workers told us the flight will take off handiest at 2.30pm. We may just in the end take off at 3.45pm.” Rau, not able to get correct knowledge from officers, lodged a complaint with the airport supervisor and the customer care department of the airline about the same.


Muskan Minda, a third year BBA and inside designing scholar at St Xavier’s college, was once also stuck on the airport. “We weren't introduced any specific details about the actual time of departure,” said Minda, who had an internship interview at a personal corporate on Monday evening, however overlooked it because the flight reached Vizag handiest at five.10pm on Monday.

A SpiceJet spokesperson said a technical glitch in the 78-seater aircraft had pressured them to cancel the flight on Sunday. “A component of the aircraft had to get replaced. That was once resolved via Sunday evening. On Monday, a Dhaka sector flight was once scheduled to land at Kolkata via 11am and take the passengers to Vizag. But Sunday’s dust hurricane pressured the extend. We remorseful about the inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.
