Grain market to be used as additional bus stand from today

Ludhiana: In order to reduce traffic from Amar Shaheed Sukdev Inter-state Bus Terminus (major bus stand) against Gill Chowk Flyover, which is currently under construction because of a collapsed wall, the new grain market located in Salem Tabri will probably be quickly used as an extra bus stand from Wednesday by means of the district administration for city-based street commuters.

Exercising his proper under Section 200(2) of Punjab Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, under Section 200(2), district magistrate-cum-deputy commissioner Pradeep Aggarwal has notified the new grain market in Salem Tabri as an extra bus stand for the ease of city-based street commuters. The choice has been taken keeping in view calls for raised by means of commissioner of Municipal Corporation (Ludhiana) and commissioner of police (Ludhiana).


It has been discussed in the notification that the principle bus stand has not been utterly closed for street commuters, but the explanation why in the back of notifying the new grain market as an extra bus stand is to reduce the traffic waft entering the city, giving relief from lengthy traffic jams. Moreover, the overall manager of Punjab Roadways has been directed to make sure proper association of buses at each bus stands and make sure important arrangements for the extra bus stand.
