Haryana claims improvement in sex ratio at birth

NEW DELHI: Haryana’s embarrassingly skewed sex ratio at start appears to be showing indicators of improvement, with the management claiming a soar of 38 issues between 2015 and December 2017.

While the 2011 census put Haryana’s sex ratio at start (SRB) at a deficient 830 women per 1,000 boys, in 2017, the SRB, as per chief registrar of births and deaths, stood at 914 women per 1,000 boys.

The data was once presented at a national consultation organised through the women and child building ministry on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme right here.


BBBP was once introduced in 2015 through PM Narendra Modi from Panipat in Haryana. The data for Panipat presentations SRB larger from 833:1000 in 2011 to 892:1000 in 2015. It went up additional to 893:1000 in 2016 and 945:1000 in 2017.


According to data pattern shared on the conference, SRB in Haryana rose from 876:1,000 in 2015 to 902:1,000 in 2016 and then went up additional to 914:1000 in 2017.
