LUDHIANA: High velocity dust hurricane blew around the Ludhiana and surrounding districts bringing lifestyles to standstill for a while on Wednesday afternoon. The met department has warned that the dust hurricane can return in the subsequent twenty four hours. The unexpected trade in weather introduced respite to the residents as the wind carrying thick dust blew around the district.
Director Met department Chandigarh Surender Paul informed The Times of India that velocity of dust hurricane in and round Ludhiana was as prime as seventy to 80 kilometers in keeping with hour. He added that Dust hurricane occured because of western disturbance and easterly winds.
Met department stated that there are chances of dust hurricane returning on Thursday as well. It predicted that light to moderate rainfall of 1 to 2 centimeters depth is predicted on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, residents were stunned by means of unexpected arrival of a strong dust hurricane. "I had gone to pick up my children from school in Sarabha Nagar when the dust storm lashed the city. I had to keep myself locked in the car till the dust storm subsided. It was a horrifying experience to witness such high speed dust storm" stated Harpreet Kaur, a homemaker of Pakhowal Road.
Many residents stated that such hurricane is unseen in the fresh occasions.
"It was pitch dark and dust storm was blowing as if it will uproot buildings and trees. I haven't seen such dust storm in last many years. Thankfully till now we have not heard of any loss to human life" stated Ashok Kumar, a trader of Civil Lines. In the in the meantime stories from neighboring Khanna, Jagraon, Doraha, Raikot, Samrala and Machiwara recommend that dust hurricane was similarly intense in those spaces as Ludhiana. On Khanna Samrala road, dust hurricane had uprooted few bushes and that had fallen on the road.
