HYDERABAD: After days of combating excessive warmth, citizens heaved a sigh of reduction on Thursday, as sudden showers accompanied with thunderstorm and gusty winds lashed several portions of town. However, meteorologists attribute the sudden downpour to formation of cumulonimbus clouds and to not the onset of southwest monsoon.
Over the previous few days, Hyderabad's moderate temperature has been soaring around 40-42 degree Celsius. Meteorologists declare that upward thrust in temperature resulted in formation of rain bearing clouds over town. "In the past few days, the maximum temperature touched 42.5 degree Celsius. The warm, moist air rises and cools, eventually condensing into rain bearing clouds," said Raja Rao, meteorologist at Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad.
The IMD, Hyderabad also issued thunderstorm warning for few districts for the next two days. "Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Jaya Shankar Bhupalapalle, Warangal (urban), Warangal (rural), Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam and Badradri Kothagudem of Telangana," reads the warning issued via IMD, Hyderabad.
Although rainfall task will proceed for the following couple of days, weathermen declare that southwest monsoon will best input Telangana via June 5. "Conditions are likely to become favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some parts of south Peninsula around June 3, with the likely development of favourable circulation features leading increase of rainfall over interior Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana," learn the forecast issued via the IMD, New Delhi.
Even personal weather forecasting businesses expect southwest monsoon to enter Telangana in the following couple of days. "By June 6-7, we can expect good rains to begin over many parts of Telangana that would result in substantial relief from the ongoing hot weather," learn the file issued via Skymet.
