NEW DELHI: After a mud hurricane hit the nationwide capital early on Wednesday, Indian Meteorological Department has issued a caution for subsequent 72 hours anticipating equivalent climate conditions across huge portions of north India together with Delhi.
According to the caution bulletin issued in the morning, "Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (with speed 50-70 kms) very likely at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh."
The similar predictions were made for May 17 at isolated puts over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Police said that an 18-year-old guy used to be killed and 13 other folks injured in the dust hurricane that hit town in the early hours on Wednesday.
The Police Control Room (PCR) received 78 calls during the hurricane that started round 3am.
As many as 59 calls about fallen bushes, 5 calls about fallen electrical energy poles and 11 calls about hoardings/wall collapse were received through the PCR, police said.
Also, four calls received were about damages to automobiles in the dust hurricane. Fourteen automobiles - 13 automobiles and a motorcycle - were damaged in it, the police said.
As many as 80 other folks were killed in 5 states because of thunderstorms and lightning moves since May 13, with the northern state of Uttar Pradesh alone recording 51 deaths, the Home Ministry said on Monday.
Meanwhile, temperature in the morning used to be recorded at 25 levels Celsius and normally cloudy sky with mild rain or drizzle is expected, a MeT professional said.
