Injury scare for Saha ahead of Afghanistan Test

India's wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has suffered a thumb harm and faces a race towards time to be fit for the one-off Test towards Afghanistan next month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mentioned on Monday.

The 33-year-old injured his proper thumb whilst playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad towards Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League playoffs ultimate week.


"To determine the future course of injury management, Saha will see a specialist and the BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor his progress," BCCI mentioned in a statement.


Saha's harm may just pave the way in which for Parthiv Patel or Dinesh Karthik in the Indian squad.


Patel performed two out of three Tests in South Africa previous this 12 months, whilst Karthik has established himself as a typical member in the restricted overs formats.


Afghanistan will make their Test debut towards India in the Bengaluru Test beginning June 14.
