CHENNAI: The commissioner of metro rail protection started inspections of Chennai Metro Rail’s line between Shenoy Nagar and Central Metro on Monday morning.

Till Tuesday, the commissioner and his workforce will inspect the upline between Shenoy Nagar and Central Metro protecting five.62km and downline between Central Metro and Nehru Park, about 2.5km. It shall be followed via inspections in the four.5km stretch between Little Mount and AG-DMS on May 18 and 19. The inspections are obligatory for authorising operations of the strains.


Railway protection commissioner, southern circle, Ok A Manohar mentioned a number of parameters together with amenities put in for passenger protection and different amenities can be inspected. “We will test monitor parameters, tunnels and the stations, calibration of the trains and firefighting machine among others,” he mentioned earlier than heading for inspections in conjunction with his workforce. “I will authorise operations once the inspection is over,” he mentioned.
