Karnataka: 336 officials to count votes in DK

MANGALURU: Fate of 58 candidates contesting in 8 assembly segments of Dakshina Kannada district shall be determined on Tuesday.

The Election Commission is fully prepared with 336 counting officers on its rolls to rely votes of Belthangady, Moodbidri, Mangaluru City North, Mangaluru City South, Mangaluru, Bantwal, Puttur and Sullia constituencies at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Higher Primary School and Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Composite PU College at Bondel.

Deputy commissioner S Sasikanth Senthil mentioned the method will begin with the counting of postal ballots gained till 8am on Friday. Postal ballots had been despatched to 380 provider electorate and 11,401 govt staff. Soon after the counting of postal ballots, EVMs shall be brought to the counting halls. To steer clear of traffic congestion, those who are travelling to MIA are also asked to take Kuntikana-Kavoor or Kuloor-Kavoor routes, mentioned city police commissioner Vipul Kumar.


Parking places had been recognized at KHB Ground, NMS Ground and MG College Ground. Vehicles from KPT junction may be parked at KHB Ground and those coming from Kavoor may park their cars at NMS Ground. All govt cars shall be allowed to park inside of MG College floor.
