LUDHIANA: German-born American photographer had once said Alfred Eisenstaedt, “When I have a camera in my hand, I know no worry.” Photography has the ability to stir the deepest emotions and this concept has brought 100 like-minded other people together to form a group referred to as Onepix.
From businessmen, medical doctors, bankers, engineers, industrialist, to private sector employees and students, the sheer passion for photography has brought other people from different professions together. The members no longer most effective pursue their passion for the lens but in addition are train the art.

New starting

“We shaped the crowd in 2013. It had a different identify then. We have modified the identify of the crowd not too long ago. There are 100 members now. Around 50% of the members belong to the business community, 30% are professionals including medical doctors, engineers and bankers and 15% work in the personal sector. five% of our members are students, said Manoj Gupta, a businessman of Model Town and member of Onepix.

Whereas most of the members are from Ludhiana, there are a couple of lensmen who hail from Jammu, Moga and Phagwara. All the members have professional cameras.

Walk the talk

Gupta said the main purpose at the back of the formation of the crowd was once to carry people who share a common passion and help them bond. “We cling a photograph stroll each Sunday during which the members go to various puts to click on footage. While taking footage, we discuss the various strategies of taking pictures a shot. We also discuss new advancements in photography and equipment,” he said.

After the picture stroll, the members delight in sumptuous breakfast together. The members inform TOI that amidst their high-stressful jobs, these picture walks help them to de-stress.

Apart from picture walks in Ludhiana, the group has travelled to puts reminiscent of Triund in Himachal Pradesh, Varanasi (for Dev Deepawali), Barsana (for Holi) to capture surprising pictures.

They have also gone for picture walks in Rose Garden, Leisure valley, Nurpur, Mattewara, Sarai Kale Khan and Namdhari Memorial in Malerkotla. Some members have also travelled to Ladakh, Kashmir, Lahaul-Spiti to quench their thirst for photography.

For the sake of art

The group also encourages budding lovers to expand the art. “We also encourage aspiring photographers to understand the art. After the of completion of our picture walks, we upload our pictures on social networking sites. This attracts the attention of other aspiring photographers,” said Ankush Jain, an industrialist of Barewal, and a member of the crowd.

The members were on cloud 9 once they gained a call for participation to ship a lecture on photography and the latest advancements in the career at a faculty. “We will be glad to coach aspiring photographers,” said Jain. Meanwhile, the crowd is planning to go back and forth puts the place festivals are being held or puts recognized for celebrating vibrant fairs.

Capturing the appropriate moment


It has been 4 years since I am part of this group. I want pursuing photography for a very long time now. We share various technical strategies and discuss the advancements in photography. We also feel glad once we share our knowledge with the scholars | K P Singh, a non-public sector worker from Dugri


I have not too long ago been awarded the second one prize through the state tourism and culture department for my footage on Punjab and Golden Temple.
