LUDHIANA: Ludhiana (Rural) Police arrested a drug peddler after recovering six kilograms of opium from his possession at Kaonke street Akhara of Jagraon on Friday. The accused was once identified as 35 year outdated Raj Kumar Raju of Rattia in District Fatehiabad at this time at Mohalla Prem Nagar Sarsa in Haryana.
Giving details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ludhiana (Rural) Surjeet Singh said that as a part of particular marketing campaign towards drug peddlers and anti social elements and in addition to damage the nexus of drug providers, a workforce of Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) Staff Jagraon was once present on the Bus stand Kaonke Kalan. In 2013, Sudhar police station had registered case towards the accused underneath NDPS act for restoration of 152 kilograms of poppy husk whereas in 2014, Sunam City Police station had booked him underneath NDPS act for restoration of 55 kilograms of Poppy Husk and is proclaimed perpetrator if so”, said SSP. He added that the accused has a case towards him underneath NDPS act at Sadar Police Station Kapurthala for restoration of 2 KG 70grams Opium whereas Dhuri police station had booked the accused underneath NDPS act after forty five kilograms of poppy husk was once recovered from him.


Police said that the accused can be produced earlier than the Local court docket to protected his police remand and could make more disclosures about the drug business.
